Florence.

Florence.

Florence is a lovely historic town in tuscany, the birthplace of michealangelo and the home of his famous sculpture of david (which we didnt see due to the 4 hour que). The cathedral in the centre was very impressive from the outside but after spending time in rome the inside seemed very lacklustre.

Florence = 7.5/10

Gargano.

Gargano.

Gargano is a national park with stunning beaches, mountains and forests located at the top of the Puglia region. While we were here we mostly just swam in the sea as it was a bit too hot to do much else, (mid to high 30's all day everyday). Apart from swimming to keep cool we went for long drives on the many mountain roads and explored the national park and even saw some wild pigs.

Gargano = 7.5/10

Monopoli

Our first impression of Monopoli was "oh my God what a dump". We pitched up and decided it would be a short stay of three days. When we took a trip out of the industrial outskirts and into the centro storico (historical centre) we decided it was much nicer than we had first realised. This and the car breaking down contributed to us staying for 8 nights. The car.... Our air intake pipe for the turbo had been burst for a while, however we managed to keep fixing it, but in Monopoli it gave up. Thanks to some very friendly German/Italian neighbours (Andreas & Jessica)we got a good deal on fixing the car and it is good as new. Lovely lively town with small port.

Monopoli = 7/10
